Art pottery planter decorated with relief carvings of a man, woman, leaves and flowers around the perimeter. The planter with a drainage hole in the center of the base, is heavy and similar composition to stoneware, though rougher in texture on the exterior giving it the appearance of carved stone - it also appears to have a salt glaze applied. Condition: The shaped rim with 2 small firing hairlines, the underside of the tapered base with hairline that also appears to be firing related, and the footed base with a series of chips around the edge - overall it is in good condition. Probably late 19th to early 20th century. The interior is marked in black 2138-K. Size 7 3/4"H x 11 1/2"W. Would be excellent in either the exterior or interior of your home as a flower pot or ????? As with all of my garden and architectural items, it is available for pickup in Fort Wayne IN. Small enough for UPS but I also have a reliable shipper to most of the continental U S east of the Mississippi. Shipping to west of the Mississippi would need to be arranged by you. Concerning payment: With 20% as an initial payment you can also pay out the piece if you like, just email ahead so we can work out terms for that method. Cleared bank draft is also fine. Let me know if you would like additional information about any item. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
