This is a charming and delightful oil on canvas by WILLIAM HENRY GORE (English, 1880-1916). Titled "An Interesting Patient", piece is signed 'W. Henry Gore' (lower left) and also retains a preserved label verso inscribed "An interesting patient / W. Henry Gore / 30 East Russell St / London W.C.". As you can see, a young girl has bandaged her pet dog's foot; a loving nurse she is. Approximately 36x24in., and overall framed 48x36in. There is also an Art Restoration label affixed to protective backing board verso. Piece has had some inpainting as reveled by UV light. Original frame has been repainted but in nice condition. This painting comes from a family decent, and painting has resided in the same family since the 1950's. Please note, in particular, the fine and detailed work of the young girls hat, the dog's face, and the flowers behind the park bench.
