I've always been a fan of antique bracket clocks as they are usually of good quality. This is an example of that. It is a very fine LENZKIRCH burl walnut (matched) bracket or shelf clock. The burl walnut case is fine with detailed gilt brass and bronze mounts, a carved dome and convex frieze embellished with a flame finial at each corner. The arched door flanked by canted corners with gilt acanthus and laurel and line inlay; the silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals within super ornate gilt metal openwork spandrels, a second smaller silver chapter slow/fast dial, ornate gilded grills each side and gilded feet. In very good condition and exceptional original patina overall. Movement with two gong strike on the quarter (advancing) and hour. Signed on the brass plate works for the German company. Original keys for both back and front doors. Eight day time and strike (delicate and crisp) and, as with all our clocks, it has been serviced and is currently running properly. Measures 15.5 x 10 x 7.5 inches.
