An exceptional heavily carved French tall case grand father clock. This dates to the mid 19th century and has detailed delicate carvings in an overall organic motif with birds and fruit. The case is in overall excellent condition and measures 19 wide, 6 deep, 105 high. A pretty hand painted dial signed Hyacinthe Devaul a Bosgeffroy. The flowers painted on the dial (convex glass) are hyacinths. I purchased this clock with the movement in it but doubt it is original. I know the two brass weights, pendulum, and chain are not original. The has been overhauled and is running correctly; striking on the cast iron bell. The case is made of quarter sawn oak. If you are looking for a completely original antique clock this one is not for you. If you are looking for a beautiful antique clock with some updates this could be for you.
