This is a very fine Lorenz Furtwangler & Sohne (German, 1836-1929), circa 1881-1900 tall case clock (grandfather clock). A late Victorian Eastlake style walnut two weight weight-driven grandfather clock or tall case clock having an scroll carved pediment with turned finial over the square glazed door opening to a circular brass dial in white enamel and black Roman numerals. Striking on the half and hour with a very pretty clear sound. Glass front door decorated with carved openwork scrolling fretwork with pendulum window raised on a stepped plinth base. Stamped to the backplate of movement with trademark of the letters 'LFS' inside a wheel and numbered #284. Approximate height 91", width 21.5", depth 11".
