Quite a fine marble and bronze Napoleon mantle clock,circa 1860. Detailed bronze sculpture of Napoleon seated in a chair beside a globe titled "Veille de Wagram" (Eve of Wagram), on a green marble base with bronze ball feet. The 3 inch globe acting as the clock dial with Roman hour numerals on the front. Clock has a small round brass spring driven time only 8 day movement with cylinder escapement. The battle of Wagram (near Vienna) took place in July 1809 and was a gruesome battle and Napoleon's last great military victory. 11.75 in. high x 10.75 in. wide x 5 in. deep. In excellent running condition.
