This is a very fine live steam engine. A well engineered locomotive and tender 2 1/2" gauge model of the L M.S. Railway 4-4-0 Locomotive and Tender No 1000. I am not an expert on this type of piece. Information from the previous owner indicates the following: Built to the designs of Earle Eagle by G. Ward, stamped on underside "Made in England, 1922" and with a small lead seal stamped "D. Zoll". Complete with brazed super heated copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle and drip valves. Chassis details including twin outside cylinders with inside slip eccentric reverse gear, fluted connecting and coupling rods, displacement lubricator, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass whistle, steps, hand and lamp irons with lamps. Tender details include hand feed pump, steps and hand iron, all finished in red and black with gold and black striping. Overall length of locomotive is 19", tender is 12". Fine condition and includes fitted wooden carrying cases.
